We know that local people will have lots of questions about the development, so we've tried to answer some of the most important ones.
There will be a well-balanced mix of 16 homes, including eight two-bed houses, two three-bed houses, and six one-bed maisonettes. A local North Devon builder, Poltair Construction, will build them. The timescale could change but we expect the homes to be completed by early summer 2027. This new social housing will be for people with a local connection to Ilfracombe. Applicants need to be registered with Devon Home Choice, which processes applications for social housing across Devon. The Ilfracombe Community Land Trust has no involvement in who will be awarded housing, and allocation will follow local connection criteria for people bidding for these homes. These will be social rental properties for life but they will be owned by Ilfracombe Community Land Trust and managed by Aster Housing Association.
